Our training groups are organised primarily according to age groups (Mini, Junior, Senior), although more experienced or proficient athletes may join older groups.

Track and Field
Our Track and Field training groups tend to be loosely split into "Minis & Younger Juniors", and then "Juniors and Seniors” with some cross-over of those aged 11-15.
We do not train just for sprinting - athletes (especially Minis & Juniors) are encouraged to try multiple disciplines across track and field events. Athletes are sometimes split into smaller groups to work on specific track or field events.

Cross-Country
Middle Distance group sessions are designed for athletes who want to run 400m to 1500m on the track (some older athletes may choose 3000m and 5000m). In the Summer, training is focussed on building skills and confidence for the track season, and ensuring athletes are confident competing in our Youth and Senior Leagues.
In the Winter we focus on Cross-Country. Most training is on the track although we do have occasional off-track sessions designed to build up fitness and endurance to prepare athletes for competing in the Essex Cross-Country League.
